All great! I think we will start looking into reservations in Washington / Oregon state parks, and the National Forest campgrounds! Thanks all!

OK, we brought the new Fox Mountain 265RLS home last Saturday, and we are ready for our first short weekend outing! We picked Dash Point State Park, in Federal Way (WA), which according to Google Maps is about 45 miles from our home. Strictly first come first served, this time of year, we are counting on it not being a problem to get a serviced site. It looks great, with something like 1,300 feet of Puget Sound beach front. So look for a review of Dash Point State Park some time next week!
Take a look at the area around Carson and/or Trout Lake. Great FS campgrounds, lakes and streams for fishing, ice caves to explore, berry picking, back roads to check out and generally not crowded.
OK, thanks, I will look into those. Where are they located generally?

At Dash Point State Park in Federal Way, WA, right now! Rain and wind, what else is new in Washington State! But it is a nice woodsy location right on Puget Sound, backed the Fox Mountain into a nice wide spot, leveled 'er up, put the slide-out out and hooked up electric and water - no sewer in most spots for some strange reason, but the bathroom is right across the green, so not a problem (well, maybe it will be a problem at 3 a.m.). Martinis in less than an hour! We'll probably watch a movie tonight on streaming Netflix, and hit the hay early. Boating and RV'ing, 9 p.m. feels like midnight to us! Company coming over for diner tomorrow night, should be fun. I wrote a little blog post about our new RV, read it here.
