Ok I have given up on my hd 2500 and I am moving up. I have narrowed my truck down to 2 they are a 2006 f 350 lariat with a 6.0L V8 FI Turbo Diesel 126 thousand miles IT IS NOT A DULEY $21900.00 and the other is a 2005 f 350 Dually 6.0L V8 FI Turbo Diesel king ranch with 94 thousand miles price is $22600.00 I’m sure either will pull my camper 40ft sandpiper. My dry weight is 10983lbs and my gvwr is 14175lbs and hitch weight is 2175lbs what do you all think?

I would think that for a 5er weighting 14,175 lbs you would need a 1 ton and the hitch weight looks low. If it was 20% of trailer weight it would be closer to 3,000 lbs? There have been some problems with that Ford 6.0 and I would look at those issues before I bought one. My F250 is a 2011 CC longbed diesel 2wd XLT and after looking at all three, Ford Chev and Dodge for 7 months, I got the Ford for $39,175,new, mainly because I could not pay $20,000 and up for a truck with over 100,000 miles. I would be careful and leery of the 05/06 PSD 6.0. Just too many well documented issues.
(many have had good service from theirs, many many have not without expensive protection upgrades.)
Google "Ford 6.0 psd problems" and start reading.

both are very good truck ! for myself i will go for the king because its more stable with drw than single and because its a king (i like the country style and this is why i bought my longhorn)!
but you cant be wrong with those 2 truck .
have fun !

Oh, no...here we go. Before this one heads south, I would say ASSUMING you've gotten a clean OASIS report for each of them and ASSUMING they've each received scheduled maintenance and ASSUMING you plan to consider an extended warranty, they seem to be pretty equal trucks. I would probably go with the '06 simply because it's been used a little more. These trucks don't like to sit which may create some turbo problems. There are other things to look for as well. I would do some research on Powerstroke.org and Ford-trucks.com before deciding. You're right; either truck will do the job if they're in good shape and you do some research and take actions. 1 more question would a 2008 f250 with a 6.4 POWERSTROKE DIESEL FX4 CREW CAB with 132000 miles pull my camper?it cost about the same as the others
