Were planning on spending 4 nights in Daniel Boone National Forest area the 3rd week of April.
We prefer quiet, away from things type of campgrounds and do not require any hookups, sites on water are a plus.

What NF or any other campgrounds do you like best and which sites are your favorite.

We like Twin Knobs in the northern and Blue Heron in the southern area in Big South Fork.

We camp in the George Washington and Jefferson Natl Forest around here all the time. They have several great camping spots and some way back in the woods. Most usually have a bath room and water available.

My Wife loves to do the Smoky Mountain Natl Park scene around Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge TN area so she can go run the tourist thing up and down the shops along the strip. She goes and shops till she drops and I get to do my mountains photos and hiking around the mtn tops trails. Then we go eat at Bennets BBQ when I pick her up in town before heading back to the camp site... Bears loves the smell of BBQ...

What a life we campers live....

We have stayed at Trout Pond NF Campground in West Virginia and Sherando Lake in Virginia. They have electric hookups, water hydrants through out the loops, bath houses, dump station and swimming beaches. Not sure which National Forests they are in,either Mononghela,Jefferson or George Washington. They also have other nice campgrounds in each.

We like Natural Bridge, but the campgrounds are old and rather crowded, and most of the sites are unlevel. Middle Fork CG is the big CG and has the better view and the bigger creek.
