A roof leak in the cabover can be disastrous. The wood in there may be all rotted already. You may be doing a total rebuild of the cab portion. There is apost on here of someone who rebuilt a '78 Dodge Class C. Look for that and read what he had to do. At $2500 I think it is about $4000 over priced.

Market for C motorhomes more than 30 years old has been in the $1500 - $3000 range if they are in usable condition, good running order and free of damage from leaks. Lower end of that range would be "hunter specials" that could be driven to a camp for the season, but not running well enough for travel. You could be in that category.

I've seen "project" RVs sell for a few hundred dollars, but sometimes when you get into working on them you figure out that if someone gave it to you free you still paid too much. Those would be the ones that you step through the floor, or open up a well and find all rotten wood. But that also happens on fairly new used RVs that sell for a high price with hidden damage.
