Congrats on the new tow rig Linc. FWIW, in fleet applications they are holding up really well.

I guess for me the wide track front end and the much better turning radius was a plus for the 450

as time goes by, you'll find you love the new truck more and more.
there are times I miss my old 6.0, then I drive my new 6.7 and forget all about it

Amazing how heavy these new trucks are. My '97 F350DRW 4wd diesel reg cab cab/chassis with 11'x8' steel flat bed weighs 7200-7400 lbs empty, depending on how much fuel is in the tanks. That's about 1000 lbs less than the truck discussed in this post.
Some of it has to do with DEF tank and fluid as well with the larger motors and and sturdiness of the heavyduty frames.
The motor is bigger? I have the 7.3. The new motor is 6.7. I don't know what the weight difference is between the 2 motors though.

your 7.3 is HEAVIER than the 6.7 - the new Ford runs aluminum heads, the cast irons on that 7.3 weigh about the same as a new Fiat 500

Congrats on the new truck! I think Ford did their homework with the 6.7. Several people I know have them and most all have had very good luck with them. talking w/a friend who's company uses them at a mine tells me he hasn't had any problems. All the other past Fords and Chevy's they've had... have had some problems early on, but not the 6.7.

Apparently, they have a pretty important problem with Bosch high pressure pumps self destructing on the 6.7's. There's about an 80 page long discussion that's been going about it for awhile now in the tow vehicles section of the forum....

You will love your new truck , i had a 2005 and purchased a 2012 about 2 months ago. The difference is crazy. I have a raptor 4014LE and hills i use to slow down to 25-30 mph in nowgo up at 60-65 mph.

I already do love it.
There is a hill from Phoenix to Yuma that I pull on the way to the dunes.
Old truck could barely hold 45mph. This truck pulled the hill at 67mph and was still accelerating. I was totally impressed!!!!!
