Please take a minute before posting to consider what forum you are posting in. This forum is for modififications and upgrade posts. As it states in the sticky forum guideline at the top "Please post all repair and maintenance threads in the Tech Issues Forum and only modifications and upgrades in the DIY forum
Thank you.

Profdant139's post about adding fore and aft stabilizers isn't classified as an "upgrade or modification"? I don't understand how it classifies as a "repair or maintenance".

I'm cool with wherever the moderator wants to put stuff -- I check both forums anyway!!

When in doubt, contact the moderator ahead of time and ask. Has worked well for me.

I looked at profdant139's post (although this was not actually mentioned by Barney) and what Barney is saying is that the DIY Forum is for showing your modifications and improvements...

prof's post (and others that were moved) is asking a question regarding how to eliminate forward/aft movement and not actually showing the installation of said items... Had his post actually shown the installation of such items as an improvement, it would have stayed in DIY, but because he was asking a technical question, it was moved to Tech Issues... Hope my explanation clears things up...

When Barney and I created this forum, our vision was a forum showing actual modifications and improvements (with many photos), not just asking technical questions about them as that forum already existed... That was the spirit in which this forum was created...

Les and Barney -- so just to be clear, if I want to ask HOW to modify or DIY, I would post on the tech issues -- but if I have actually DONE the modification, I post here, right? A subtle distinction, but I can certainly abide by that, if I am correctly interpreting the guidelines.

Yep, that is pretty much how we figure it. We didn't want to take business away from the Tech Issues forum and still wanted to give the members a way to show some of the good mods and improvements they have made. Yes, a very subtle distinction and one that we discussed prior to starting this forum.

Maybe they could change the name from Tech Issues to Repair and Maintenance threads. Also add "DIY" in front?

I myself do not consider myself a "Tech" plus what I'd like to add is not that technical. I almost posted here because I have a "DIY" thing and I clearly saw "DIY" in the name of THIS forum. Tech sounds like I'm opening up the stereo and soldering in it :/

Folks would gravitate to the repair section if it was so named.

Okay, so I have a repair idea for outside skin repair. It says "electrical and mechanical" on Tech Repair. Where can I post a "Cosmetic Repair" idea??

g'day

It should be posted in the Tech Issues forum.
