The damage these invasive insects cause is extensive... the EAB has destroyed over 30 million ash trees in the United States… ALB has caused tens of thousands of hardwood trees to be destroyed in Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York, and was recently found in Ohio as well... In a single year alone, the Southern Pine Beetle, a bark beetle smaller than a grain of rice, killed 14,000 acres of pines in New Jersey…

I guess you can’t argue with ignorance, and I don’t mean that in a nasty way… there is nothing natural about the EAB introduction and the other pest that have been brought here…

When the trees are lost, you can bet that those who done the least will be the ones crying the loudest and complaining the most about the inept government not doing enough about the problem…

Unfortunately it is quite common today to see fellow campers that decide which rules apply to them and which rules apply to others… pure selfishness, and I do mean that just as it sounds…

How about a link to some information about the damage referenced in SE Mass… I would like to read about the miraculous recovery mentioned…

Question, Can't they spray for these bugs and why wern't they stopped before they got in? Or is this like the fish going into lake michigan. WELL WE MIGHT DO SOMETHING BUT WE CAN'T DO THE ONE THING THAT WOULD STOP THEM CLOSE THE LAKE

The cost for treating each individual tree is very expensive... If you have an Ash tree in your yard you want to save it would be worth it but if you have 30 acres of woods with a thousand ash trees you probably couldn't afford it.

If you don't acknowledge Dutch Elm Disease, please include the data you used to ignore it; along with JJ's request.

...not just limited to campers either.

Self accountability is getting rarer and rarer.

No- most, if not all pesticides that might have worked have been made illegal by the federal EPA - many times based on environmentalist's concerns ( right or wrong).. Rachel Carson started it all and the case against DDT has never been proven!!

Ignoring the law doesn't make it legal. Like the old saying goes, "Ya can't fix stupid!"
