Hi, I just purchased a 1995 Gulfstream Ultra, Class C. There is a black switch on the underside of a kitchen cabinet. It does not operate any of the lights.
I can't find the water heater switch and thought this might be it but there is no red indicator light near it so I'm not sure. Any suggestions?

My 1999 Gulfstream has a black switch on the bottom of the cabinet by the srairs that operates the outside light. Did you check that light?

I did not check that - could very well be the outside light. Any idea where the water heater switch is located??

Well, it turns out the mystery switch is indeed for an outside light by the door. I can't for the life of me find a water heater switch anywhere inside the coach. Is it possible one does not exist?

My switch for the water heater electric element was indeed on the bottom of a kitchen cabinet, without an indicator light. Someone suggested it was put there so kids would not play with it. The placement can be irritating, since the WH is a fairly large current draw and you'd like to be sure that it is on or off.
If you remove the switch from the cabinet and put a voltmeter across it, you can test it by turning circuit breakers on and off; maybe the breaker that matches will be labelled "water heater".
I moved mine to a more visible location, and substituted a lighted-when-on rocker switch.

rgraham, does your water heater switch have a red indicator light? The switch under my cabinet does not and that is why I'm not sure.
