I believe that all men are brothers.

Especially when the brothers have over 200 warheads, ICBMs and MRBMs!

According to this study, transport is by far the largest source of black carbon emissions in the US at 52% of total emissions.

Wonder what the % is from diesel powered electricity power generation?

Know mostly are coal fired both here in the USA and China, but what is the diesel
content?

Black Carbon

Actually, I am going to have a chat with the PIs on that study.

There are some issues with their characterization --- aerosol, time aloft, and also biodegradability of carbon particles...

Very little to nil.

Stationary diesels are used in remote locations, but most are not necessarily for electricity power generation per se

Heavily used for industrial power (e.g. drilling rigs, fracting needs pressure, things like that.. and construction sites.. away from electric grid.

Electric grid is so cheap that it is used whenever possible.

China uses a fair amount of diesels for backup / supplement when they had electricity shortages, but that is now a thing of the past with slowing electrical demand growth.

Riiiight and this is why we don't need Law enforcement or armies. the world is just one big happy family there is no evil. You tell that to a cop or a Soldier of WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Panama, Grenada and now the middle east. Besides the government burns diesel to get rid of human waste, and in military vehicles.

Looking at some of the posters claiming to be LE, not only are armies needed, but GBU-43/B.

Tell us about how well Okinawa went?

Or Iwo Jima. Relatively small engagements by 21st century standards.

And how many square miles that is? And how many KIA MIA WIA?

Now tell us about being serious about thinking war with a nuclear armed power that have MIRVed ICBMs with penetration aids and other toys.

The study said their time aloft was limited to days or weeks at the most. That would lead me to think that most of the black carbon in our atmosphere is locally generated.

I am a bit uneasy about that, knowing how aerosols tend to travel.

If it was ground level generated, follows a lot will stay at ground level.

But at PM 2.5 think other things might happen.

Less than what the 8th Airforce lost over Europe.

You tell me what it was like to be a Jew, a Russian, a pole in WWII and what "H" does this have to do with the topic?
