All that extra stuff? Isolate it. Then when you go camping the next time, find a "newbee" camper and give some of it to them. Newbee's are not that hard to identify. They're tickled pink, and it makes you feel good too. We did this every year for over 10 years. Finally ... the stuff quit accumulating, and we truly do have everything in the camper we actually use, and have those items we improvise with if we don't. For example, a Philips screw driver works as an excellent ice-pick to break up frozen bags of ice, and meat scissors works great for cutting hair and paper and wire too! Bungie cords are used for everything, as is rope and tent pegs.
Yup. we all have a tendency to 'over accumulate'!

Rule of thumb in my house. "If you haven't used it in the past year your don't need it" same rules apply in campers!
We have a once a year garage sale. What doesn't get sold goes to goodwill. What doesn't go to Goodwill goes into the back of my truck for a one way trip to the dump!
I think everything has babies.
Every few years when my husband is gone I take everything out and place it on a white sheet on the bed. Than I take pictures so we have proof of what is there in case of a fire. The hard part is making him do the same thing with his things.
I have brought two boxes along, one for things to get rid of and one for things to keep at home in case I find a need for.
