I'm sorry I missed this post but SO very happy that Ginger's surgery went so well and that she has such an excellent prognosis.

I have never heard of this condition so thank you for posting and the explanation.

I'll send Ginger lots of good vibes for a quick recovery.

The update sounds good and prayers are still coming your way for Ginger. Maybe you can get her home for Easter - wouldn't that be grand!

I'm sure glad that Ziggy is back on her game!

While we're much relieved that Ginger's surgery is over...our hearts are aching for her --- we know she's one uncomfortable little doggie. What a little trooper!

Hoping for a speedy recovery! Speaking from experience,(as is a lot of us on this forum!), surgery is really hard on Mommy and Daddy, too. Have a Blessed Easter!

We got an update from the Surgeon today. She said Ginger was up and about...She couldn't beleive how peppy she is, given all the pain meds she's on. What determination. She took her on a short walk...and was so amazed that she called us, and invited us down to spend some time with her.

Ronni and I spent about 1/2 an hour petting her, and telling her what a good girl she was. It was therapeutic for the three of us. Then it was back to her IV drip.

They had drawn some liquid from her chest tube in the morning...but in the afternoon there's been nothing...no liquid, no air...GOOD THING! She's still hopped up on pain meds...but is remarkably lucid...and although it looks like it's a delicate maneuver for her to lay comfortably...she's eventually able to get situated.

Although I wish it had never happened at all... if it's gonna happen --- it may have been best she is only 3 years old...and very resilient to all that's happened to her.

Hope to follow you all up with more positive updates as they happen.

Thanks all!
