Oh G-d!. Not another stupid post abpout entering your postal code! All of those are urban legends. BUT today I fueled up@ a Flying J and the pump had a new key pad with letters. I did not notice the letters until I finshed pumping. Tomorrow I will try another J and use my Canadian CC. I cannot think of any other reason for letters on that pad.

Hi moisheh,

I am always fearful that the three digits followed by zero zero will fail me, so I'll be most interested in your results.

BTW I noticed at the Flying J in Fargo ND that the limit on Visa cards has been bumped up to $495.00. However, the pump still "cut me off" at $150.00

Also, for reasons I do not understand--Fargo in general has lower fuel prices than other areas of Minnesota and North Dakota (13 cents per gallon is nothing to sneeze at).

Different cut off points may be determined by how you USE the card. Use it as debit and you get one figure and credit card you get another. Of course that would be for combination cards.

Hi piantuna. We dont's use that Fargo J as it is just too tight for our rig. But I see they opened one in Grand Forks. Might be the old Big Sioux. I will know on Tuesday. We are heading North to enjoy the nice weather. It is 90 in Omaha!

Hi Moisheh,

Fuel up in Fargo--it is twenty cents a gallon cheaper than Grand Forks. (except for Sam's club which is twelve cents more than Fargo). (gas)

For Diesel it is 3.97 in Fargo and 4.09 in Grand Forks.

There have been a couple of Flying J's in Ontario and at least one in Quebec for many years.

We just tried adding the 2 zeros thing. Worked all the way home from AZ. At Fry's in Yuma we can now use our Canadian credit card.

The last 2 J's I visited did not have the new keypad. The 2 zero thing is just BS. Instead just pick a good US Zip code and it will work. Some pumps will not accept a false zip or that zero stuff. The ones that accept the 2 zero stuff will take any valid zip. Some people have a postal code that will not work with the 2 zeros as it does not turn into a valid zip code.

It turns out that a Canadian Amex card does not handshake with any gas pump. Just enter a valid zip ... say from your winter campground .... Amex will authorize the payment, the pump is happy with a valid zip.
