Most of the info I have been able to obtain about camping at Indiana Dunes State Park refers to a $10.00 entry fee for all out-of-state vehicles including campers. Is this $10.00 per day? Is it $10.00 for the camper AND the tow vehicle ($20.00)? Any other information (good or bad) would be appreciated.
If you are camping they issue you a tag to hang on your mirror showing your departure date and camp site. You only pay a one time entry fee (camping unit) and the rest of the time they wave you on through with the mirror tag displayed. This is the practice at all Indiana state parks. So you can come an go as often as you wish. Enjoy - Indiana Dunes SP is a very nice campground.

Phill is correct. Also, if you are a MH towing there is only one entry charge and you can use the tag on the toad to go in and out. If you are towing a 5er or TT there is only one charge.
This campground was totally redone a few years ago. It's very nice, wider roads, new bath houses, fewer trees but still enough that it's just about totally shaded. You will be lucky if you get a site that allows satellite.
Electric only at site, but a new dump station has improved that necessity.
There are great trails and if you have never been around sand dunes, it's an adventure. The beach is fantastic and if you bike, there is a LONG bike path that just adjoins the park and goes for miles. If you are inclined to visit Chicago, there is a South Shore train depot just outside the park and is an easy trip downtown.

Stayed there last year. It was a nice campground. I was surprised at the diversity of birds, animals and plant life. There are little lizards that you frequently see in the sand on the walk to the beach. You don't expect to see that in Northern Indiana. There are lots of red-headed woodpeckers. The South Shore train to Chicago is very convenient. Takes about an 1 hour and 15 minutes to get downtown.

Great Pictures! It is a nice State Park, we were there about 3 maybe 4 years ago and really enjoyed our stay. We also took the train to Chicago and back. We had our little Granddaughter with us and she wanted to go to The American Girl store downtown Chicago. Plenty of area to ride bikes, nice beach within walking or bike riding distance.
Like others say, if you are camping, you just pay the $10.00 once along with your camping fees, you can leave and return to the park as many times as you want during your stay.
