I'm looking for a prime campground in this area. Does anyone know what Whispering Palms Rv Resort is like in Sebastian? Looking for something close to the Indian River-Atlantic. We just want a clean well kept park, we are just over 55 yrs of age. Any help would be great. thank you

I workamped at Whispering Palms for a couple of seasons. It is a clean, well-kept park with a large French Canadian population in the winter, along with northern US visitors. There is also a small year-round population in mobile homes. During high season there were lots of activities including dances, pot lucks, tennis, shuffleboard. Haven't checked their rates lately so not sure about that part. Beware of the sites for rent at the back of the park as there is an active railroad track there.

Hi there- I live in Vero Beach. The nices RV park in the area, for that matter possiblly the whole state of FL is Sebastian Inlet State Park. It's right on the intercoastal/inlet waterway. I go there for weekends just to relax and get away from the farm animal chors. It's only 10-miles from my house. It's only about $25/night. They have just electric and water but have a well kept dumping station.

thank you for the feedback,Whispering Palms did offer the ones in the back to me,but I said no, but some available in the front, but I don't want to book until I'm really sure, Sebastian Inlet Park, can you book this ahead of time? Hate to drive all that way and they don't have anything left. It will be next February 2013. I know sounds far ahead but I've learnt my lession in waiting too long. Thanks you so much for your input..

If you are looking for more of a campground vs resort, Long Point is a county ran park on an island in the Indian River about a mile north of the inlet. Waterfront does not have full hookups but there a few full hookups in the middle. Boating and fishing are the attractions and there is a stay limit.
