The wife and I were tired of crawling over one another to get in or out of bed. Our coach had a east-west standard size bed and no room to undress or change. This last winter I changed that by removing the bed and building two twin beds, one on either side.

This is what it looked like before

as you can see, there is no room around the bed and it was a pain.

This is what we have now.

I moved the water tank over to the left side, it now balances the gen that is on the right side. As most all water lines run down the left side, I left room for a 110 elect heater to keep it warm while parked and the heat also travels all the way to the kitchen sink, no frozen lines. The water pump is now in front of the tank and is accessed by lifting the bedding and opening a trap door, no more crawling around.

The bed on the right is over the gen housing

and I used the space between to store my shotguns

We built the night stand between the two beds, which gave us extra storage and it houses the engine heater.

Now when we get up in the middle of the night, nobody needs to climb over anyone, I can read and my light doesn't bother her and we have a place to change cloths and can reach all the cabinets that are over the bed with out standing on the bed to do so.....

I want to do this in my RV. This is straight up awesome! Great work. Can you discuss what you had to remove, re-route, etc..

We have the bed on one side, and a closet and vanity on the other. The water heater in under the closet. I would also have to move the power management panel as it is mounted to the foot of the bed at the place I would have to get rid of. Nevertheless, I really want to do this project. It would make life so, much better for us.

When we were looking we actually looked at a class C with twin beds in the back. Not knowing stuff from shineola I wanted the one bigger bed rather than the twins. Now I regret that. Sleep is important..

BTW, thanks for the pics. Great job!!

There is no load on the walls, all load is on the floor, my bed is over the gen, the wifes is over the water tank.
