I am 40 years old and heve never been to the chiropractor until today. I am 6'1, 220 lbs and was absolutely man handled, humbled and whooped up on by a 140 lb woman.... I had no idea things could creek, squeak, crack and pop until I made this visit. She twisted and cracked my neck, lower/upper back and then had me lay on my back as she cracked open this rapid fire rib puncher thing...I thought I was going to pee my huggies when she hit me with that. I walked out of there feeling like less of a man but she sure knew what she was doing because after that whoopin I can't even remember why I went there in the 1st place...
it can for sure humble a guy... the bone cracker i used to go to before they retired was a small couple about that size and either one could twist and pop my big ol self around no problem and i'm 6'5 and 285lbs
I have a Friend who is a Chiropractor. There was a Lady in his office who was in the Waiting Room, who suddenly told him that she could not Move her Arms or Legs. She was a Personal Friend of his. He stepped behind her and made a couple of Minor Adjustments. After that, she was fine.

A local chiropractor with a well known sense of humor that was always pulling pranks etc. told one of his patients after a quick snap: “Quick, move your legs! Oh, thank goodness you’re OK”. The patient laughed at the joke and was leaving the office when she suddenly collapsed in the hallway. When everyone quickly ran to her aid, including the chiropractor, she jumped up and told the “doc”. Gotcha back!
When it comes to chiropractors there are good ones and not so good ones and down right dangerous ones and as for yours I have no comment save one observation.
Since you forgot why you walked in, I assume she fixed it, this is good.
I still remember my first visit (And 2nd) I went to the car, since I could not lift my right hand on it's own I used my left to lift my right arm so I could put the key in the ignition. LIkewise I opened the door (which was a "Right handed door" to the office with my left.
Leaving I had about 80 percent or more use of the right arm, There was still SOME pain but a mear shadow of what it was walking in.
2nd visit it was like someone pulled the plug and the pain just drained away.
Again. A good one. He was a graduate of the Palmer school. Since then I always ask, "What school" before I schedule an appointment.

Glad you and your wife liked my story, my wife got a kick out of it as well, I think she regrets not being there to witness it. I have to say I have never experienced anything like that but I am feeling much better after 5 days of sleepless night's and fearing the sharp, stabbing pain that accompanied every breath I took. It was my wife finally getting mad at me and making the appointment that grudgingly got me to go in. I am thankful to her for doing that, I guess they are the better half for a reason.
My sister-in-law is very fit woman who participates in races on both mountain bikes and criterion (road) racing.
She is also an avid and proficient free climber.
Several years ago she experienced some pain in her neck and shoulder after taking what she thought was a minor spill on her bicycle. She went to see a highly recommended chiropractor in Colorado Springs. This was against the advice of my wife, an RN, who told her to see an MD.
After the appointment, and what she described as very violent "admustments" she was not improved and, in fact felt worse. The chiropractor told her this was not uncommon and said she would find marked improvement after the next appointment.
After the next appointment she felt even worse and was experiencing some light headednesss. In spite of her concerns, the chiropractor told her she was just "sore" from the adjustment, that she would get better in the next few hours, and let her drive home. He never took, or ordered, any imaging beyond his routine xrays.
She got home and subsequently began to suffer from severe vertigo and nausea. Her husband took her to an ER.
Imaging by real doctors revealed that she had "tortuous arteries" in her neck and that the chiropractic manipulation had ruptured one or more causing a bleed. She also had blood in her cerebrospinal fluid. This required surgery and a hospital stay.
Of course, there was no way to prove whether the injury was caused by the initial spill from the bike, and exacerbated by the chiropractic manipulation, or by the chiropractic manipulation alone.
I know some people swear by them, but you couldn't pay me to see a chiropractor. Of course, I've had multiple cervical spine surgeries and wouldn't want anyone messing around with my neurosurgeons work.

And if not for my neurosurgeon, I would have been in a wheelchair thanks to a chiropractor who was "adjusting" a disk that neither of us knew had ruptured.
