Can you or is it worth it to try and fix a tv antenna?? I moved my 5th wheel and hit a low branch that was not there before the snow storm. It looks like a piece of plastic broke at the bottom.

You can buy the parts from Camping world and it is still much cheaper than buying the whole unit and a lot less work. The head is held on by just 2 push pins with clips holding them in place. You can buy just the head and possibly even parts if you know what you need. If it was the gear assembly at the base it also is only a $10 or so part, a little more work but relatively easy to fix

Just type the antenna model number into google and download the PDF spec sheet to identify the parts that are broken... Then go from there...

I swap the old wineguard for the jack antenna. Pinned right up to the existing mount... Much better reception. Bought just the head.

We went from the Batwing antenna over to a Winegard Jack - picked up 8 more channels all for under $50 one time purchase ! could not be happier as we are out on the Snake River in Washington and only were able to receive 4 channels depending on the weather, etc. So both are very happy with our TV viewing now.
We also bought just the head and DH installed it this morning ... the old attena head went in the dumpster !

Ya - we went through a ferocious wind and it laid back one of the wings. I never use it, but replaced the part anyway. Just one of those things that would have bugged me for life.

Yes you can replace the plastic gear at the bottom, you can also replace the square tubes. The gear was cheap, the aluminum tubes not quite so cheap.
