BTW, check your data usage regularly. I've got data usage charges when I was not using the phone. Called ATT and they said yes many apps download updates whenever they please and ATT won't do anything about it.
I'd like to know how the apps I have on my phone get access to my phone without my password? Sounds to me like ATT gives them the access.

I have Sprint and have been fulltiming for 5 years. We have been all over the east coast and now are out west. So far my phone and internet have been great. I use a Sprint MIFI for internet. I have a plan that is unlimited everything on both phone and internet. This pass summer was camping with people that had Verizon and ATT. We were in a remote area of Colorado they all received message they were going over there roamer data minutes on there smart phones. You might be sure and check this out whoever you go with.

on my android phones I hasxve auto updating turned off
I update the aspps of my choosing when I feel like it
apps/Widgets such as weather or stocks or twitter auto download data in order to give you why you want
I have the auto update also. I have it set for manual download. And I never download any of them. That is why I called ATT. I do have the weather app but that should only have access to my data when I turn it on. All the data activity was when I was NOT using the phone.
