Now let's talk price. Anyone stay at a Passport or other discounted place that we can drive from?
Good Sam, AAA, AARP and a stay 6 get day 7 free discount at American Heritage.
There is a Thousand Trails Campground - here is a link.
I have no idea if they are any good or not. It gets good reviews on rvparkreviews.com.
And it would really be nice if Colonial Williamsburg had its own campground on some part of the property - and I have suggested it to them - that would be right there in walking distance. I know the motels that are right there, a few minute walk away from Duke of Gloucester Street. No such thing when it comes to RVs. We go more than once a year and it would be great to be able to get out of the RV and walk over.

Yes exactly what I was thinking. They have sooo much land just sitting there empty. We're only going to have 2 days so I guess I'll just pick one of the nicer ones.
Anvil is on the train tracks and there is heavy train traffic. Think twice before making that choice. We stayed 15 minutes away at Newport City campground. Huge spaces, quiet and in the woods. Price was high at about $35/night but I think all the campgrounds in the area are expensive.
The 1000Trails (it's actually an Outdoor World) campground is very nice. They have an outdoor and an indoor pool. The indoor pool is open all year. They have a nice clubhouse, and lots of amenities. Very clean bath houses. Nice, level lots with lots of pull throughs.
Anvil advertise they are the closest to Colonial Williamsburg. The sites are extreamly close and next to the railroad tracks. It may be close, but I could not recommend this campground. American Heritage is a nice campground with big wide flat campsites.
