Love mine, Has all the bells, and whistles, and only 55,000 miles. I could never get as nice a truck as I already have. So I'm keeping it.

Love my old 1997 F-150. IMHO it's the best looking body style outside of 78-79.

Thanks!

If your truck is still reliable and is payed for, I say keep on truckin...
I have an 05 with 166k miles and was tempted to pull the trigger and buy a new truck, but I still love my truck and it continues to be very reliable so I decided to keep it since. Plus it still puts a smile on my face with that 6.0 psd turbo whistle.

I hardly ever drive mine anymore but I guess it always seems like when I replace them the old ones are worth more to me than anyone else so I keep them. So I've still got my 1979 Chevy and my 1993 Chevy and my 2003 Chevy but I use the new Ford for almost everything.

Coming up on nine years since built later this year. At 180k with one $45 repair. Still averaging 22-mpg solo, all miles. I figure (have budgeted) that it is at the half-way point for time & miles. 2021 is still a ways off for me to be concerned about another.

BenK wrote: 1980 C10 Silverado given to me by Dad. Was his small grocery/butcher shop truck
I ordered it for him after some heated discussions that he needed a 7,600GVWR (3/4 ton
of that era)
Only got him to get the 'Big Ten', or heavy half (today's HD or superduty)
Just over 500,000 miles. 3rd engine (performance crate with a cam), 2nd tranny
(rebuilt) and new 3.73's
I put in 1 ton helper coils on the rear after seeing brother coming back from
the wholesale house and it was on the bumper stops and the tires squished
They never went more than 50 miles per day. Going/coming to work. Picking up
sides of beef, canned goods, produce market, etc.
Frame is still bent from the time I borrowed it to work on some windgenerators
up in Tehacahapi Mountains. All four corner sheetmetal have dings from it being
both my daughters first ride.
Not worth much, other than sentimental value...am keeping it till either I can't
fix it anymore, or don't want to (not likely)
Now that's a reason to keep your truck!
BTW my dad owned a 1980 C10 with the 305 V8 which we later put on 4:10 gears. It was a pulling beast for that time.
