I just tested my thermistor using ohms at 2K setting the reading say .549 ohms. Does that mean Its really 5490 ohms? This is what Im testing
A ship in harbour is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.

The readings are often in k-ohms, so it could mean 549 ohms. Does it change when you heat up and cool the thermistor?

Does your multimeter show zero when you touch the probes together?

No, I tested it before I put it in ice water and it was reading the same.
