How can you physically determine if your base plate is mounted incorrectly? We're getting a lot of wandering when we tow and are trying to eliminate possibilities.

Check your base plate installation instructions. The pictures may give you a clue. If you don't have the instructions, get a copy from http://www.blueox.us/bx-r-BaseplateProducts.aspx?ProductId=1071.

Good luck.

Are you sure your tow bar is locked on both sides?

It looks like it's locked. The bars are both rigid and the levers are up.

Blue Ox is really helpful when you ask for help, I would give them a call if you haven't already. One thing I noticed with mine was I had to buy a drop receiver and there seemed to be a lot of play between the solid bar and the square tube it goes into so I got a piece of aluminum 1/16" thick and 1-3/4" wide and cut it about 8" long and slipped it in between, fastened it with one of those plastic zip things, and it tightened it up pretty good. I'm not saying that would cause it to wander, I just wanted it tight just in case. I tow a Liberty also and I have never noticed sway or wandering using a Blue Ox Aventa LX

Hope it works out for you,

Nick
