I have an Onan 7500 diesel generator and would like to do my own servicing. Oil, filter, fuel and air filter. Where can you get the items needed to do this.....auto parts store, online? Want to be sure to get the right oil and filters the first time as I havent done the servicing myself yet! Thanks for any suggestions.......

Local auto parts, online, or your local Cummins dealer should all have or can get what you need. Just get the numbers off your existing filters and they can cross them over if they don't have that brand. I would have them compare those numbers to what the book calls for to verify that the current part numbers are correct. For oil, check your owners manual. If it doesn't say, then I'd personally use Rotella or Delo 400 in a 15W40 weight.

Hope that helps.

Try your local NAPA store. Take the model and s/n's with you. You may be pleasantly surprised.

I took my old filter in with me to Napa and bought one that was about an 1" longer. Checked door clearance first. Did that because the short one Onan specs is difficult to get in & out..even with the special wrench they sell for it.

If you go to the Cummins Onan online store you enter your model and it will give you a parts list which you cross. For example:
