and then there are those who comment on the Hybrid forum and don't have one.
and they haven't read your previous posts asking about hybrids and asking questions about them.

those of us who have hybrids and saw your other posts, were simply answering with your other questions in mind.

tsduke03, the 23RS is not a hybrid, but is an "expandable".
it's not a good term for it, because a rear bed slideout trailer is no different than other TTs with a bed slideout, except it's on the rear instead of the side.
they don't call other TTs with regular bed slideouts, "expandables".
in fact, if you used the manufacturers' logic, any RV with a slideout, would be an "expandable".

Can you imagine how much less posts and threads this place would have if readers only posted in a sub forum that matched the RV they currently owned? Kinda limiting if you ask me.

I had a Jayco hybrid (2007 I bought in 2006) that had a similar issue when I looked at it. Jayco had just switched the mattress to heated units and they didn't really think through the shelf to bed transition. However, I have not seen this on the ROO's I've looked at. I saw a 2012 not that long ago at a show and the beds were actually quite comfy and level. Perhaps there was a specific issue with the 19' model you were shopping.

As for the ROO, you can't go wrong with a new unit from RVW as you get a factory fresh 2013 with a warranty. The ROO models have always stayed a step ahead (IMHO) of the competition by offering a laminated crowned roof with ducted AC, higher clearance and termination valves then others, alum. framed dinette and beds, and a build-as-you-like option list. I hate that many brands now "force" you into a over-priced and cheap LCD TV and other junk you may not want.

Also, remember if you buy new that FR offers a factory warranty extension for 1 year that is very affordable and well worth the price.

I was looking at a new 19' today and laying on the heated mattress beds. I can totally feel the transition from the edge of the camper to the rest of the platform. It feels like I'm leaning outward too.

Is this normal?

Then there was a whole bunch of posts of various degrees of helpfulness. You have to understand that in any forum there are "stalwarts" and there are "newbies" and various degrees in between, with even a few trolls thrown in for good measure. Sort of reflective of life itself, only on an Internet forum they tend to be more bold since they are out in cyberspace at arm's length. Try and not let it bother you too much.

To speak specifically to your issue - I don't think that it was a bad question and the issue of looking at other floorplans is immaterial. If you noted something on the Roo 19 (and I assumed you liked it) then the issue deserves an answer.

If the fixed shelf and the bunk end door is not co-planar then you will experience the feeling you described. Simple. The question is why. You were in the RV and would be the best person to judge this issue rather than all of us here in the 'net. Sounds like you did not raise the mattress and inspect the shelf. In my RV, the top (horizontal) surface is stapled to the vertical end of the floorplan area (based on pictures of a mod I saw someone perform) and if this top surface is pulled up slightly you may feel what you experienced. If it was not pulled up then it could be that the vertical end of the floorplan is slightly too tall. That is, of course, if the door is in fact level.

If you are in fact interested enough, go back to the dealer and raise the mattress. Then put a nice long level across the top fo the shelf and the door. That will tell you right away if the two are co-planar. If they are then make sure that the RV is level and then verify that the shelf and door are level. If you lie on the mattress and the problem is still there then the mattress is to blame. Rotate the mattress 180 degrees and try again. The problem should be resolved. All in 5 minutes. If not resolved then look at a Jayco.

oh, for crying out loud! SolidAxel, your perception of those of us who regularly frequent this forum is, if I may respectfully suggest, not correct. Actually, don't believe in 7 years on this forum I have ever seen your posts before, except for this one. From time to time, a post may come across as not what was intended. The OP is a newbie, asking questions, trying to make a sound decision and that is what we all need to try to help with. I believe the OP knows he is very welcome here and hopefully will join in again. I'm sure we're interested in hearing how his search progresses and all about the first great camping trip. Mod, PLEASE lock this thread - IMHO, all has been said that needs to be said, plus.

I think that this has been a very interesting issue to read about. It just gave me a whole lot of ideas on what to do. This would really give me something for the long run. If I would just click here in this forum and see all other ideas, then that would have been very great for all of us. I just hope that everything would work out well and fine with this one. Thanks!
