Thanks for your replies, so far.

I was wondering why some wanted me to visit Winnebago/Lichtsinn and then I saw that my profile had our old 2004 W/I Sightseer. We traded that in nine months ago for our 2003 Dolphin.....but I never changed my profile info.......Until now.

I think why people are telling you to go to Winnebago is that they make what you are looking for. We just took out a small recliner out of a new 2012 Winnebago sightseer. The chair was hooked to the floor with a swivel bolted down bracket that allowed the chair to swivel out if you unscrewed the bracket or push back and tighten to travel. Winnebago has every part available that is in their coaches.

I once held an object in place on the floor by drilling a clearance hole in the floor (after checking below to be sure there were no wires, pipes, etc.)and installing a couple of 3/8" "T nuts" under the floor. Then using a couple of moulded plastic knobs with 3/8" threaded bolts and steel pipe clamps. They were secure, quick & easy to use.

Your chair sounds like ours. NRV put to footloops bolted through the floor with straps and plastic latches on them. I just set the chair over the straps loop them to latch and good to go. The hold down is to keep them from moving around not make them stable to ride in. Basically the idea is to not let the chair start moving.

We own an '02 Dolphin, same chair, same dilemma. We couldn't see drilling any holes in that beautiful hardwood floor. So we got a nice thick round rug that fit the base (plus a few inches) perfectly and got some of that material used to keep rugs in place, kinda like a rubber mesh. We cut a piece to fit and placed it under the rug. That chair hasn't moved since. Ours has a lockdown on the side to keep it from rocing. No rocking, no sliding. And remember, no matter how tempting, that chair was never meant for occupancy while the coach is in motion.

I have 2 recliner/chair clamps removed from my MH when I had a new S/O floor replaced in 2005. They were never reinstalled. I just listed them on EBAY if you are still interested. Search for Item #130516842622.

Considerations: You said it is a 3/4 or 1" Pipe base.. Ok, there are several different styles of pipe clamp. On this page: http://www.erico.com/products/cdmoz_dom_pipe_clip.asp there is a grid of different pipe clamps

The 2nd clamp in the top row

Use a bolt you can hand tighten (The kind with the really big plastic heads)

Or you can use one of the other clamps and two bolts or studs with wing nuts or.. Well many possible solutions.

Thank you for your replies. I have not yet done this, but soon: I bought three sturdy J-hooks with nuts and large washers. Will drill thru the carpet into the compartment below (seems to be 3/4 in plywood, between) and secure the J-hook over the round base bars. Then secure from below with nuts and washers.

I used this to hold my chair base in place.
