Each year birds like to build a nest in my pin box. Of course that means they poop everywhere also. Has anyone come up with any ideas to close off the open/back end if the pin box to keep stuff out?

Thanks

We move/travel about every week and use the pin box area to store umbilical cord, so haven't had any problem with birds setting up house.

But you could make an 'L' shaped frame covered with screen that you slide in from the rear to cover holes in bottom and back. Screw it in place for permanent installation.

Use window screen and epoxy magnetic strip (Weatherstrip) to it. The magnet willstick it to the rear of the pinbox.

I would think installing a wire mesh, like the kind used to cover the roof vents of homes, would keep the birds out of the pin box?

Take some plastic grocery bags, fill them with balled up newspaper tie them off and stuff them in the hole in the pinbox. No more nests. Low cost easy to do and effective. Good luck.
