I was assured by my SO that this was most certainly "dog food", but I had never had it before, so I had to try it. I sauteed 1/2 of an onion and then poured in the roast & gravy and let it heat up while I cooked some rice. I poured the "dog food" over the rice and served it with some canned green beans and some garlic toast, and it was really good to be so quick and easy and inexpensive!
Anyone else tried it?

You have such a creative and descriptive way to describe food. Perhaps you were in the Marine Corps?
I'll bet you like Spam too!

LOL...ford, I'm just a country girl. It's made by Hormel.
Edit: I am a Spam lover, and I am aware that this may not lend credibility to my foodie reviews. LOL

Love me a hot roast beef sandwich. Problem is while I can find or make low sodium roast beef I've yet to find and real low sodium gravy. Made it myself several times but there was just not the flavor my mind needed for "gravy". Not to mention I can't make enough gravy to cover my use of the meat.
Anyone coming up with anyway to make/mix/out of a can way for low sodium GOOD beef gravy PLEASE post.

Last October, when we discovered that we had too many steaks to eat before heading south, we trimmed the fat, cut them all into 1" cubes, and home canned them -- 1/2 tsp. of salt per pint, water, and the beef. Delicious! And we know what went into each can.

Anything with the name Hormel on it IS dog food. And I wouldn't even feed it to my dogs!!!
You must have been very hungry or have no taste buds to eat that nasty stuff.
