Mike, try adding just a touch of Kitchen Bouquet to your home made gravy. It should give it some flavor and color it up.

HeeHawHoney, My wife cuts up potatoes into small chunks, adds the onions and the roast beef and gravy and cooks until the potatoes are tender and makes a hash with it. A couple dashes of tobasco sauce and it is delicious.

I don`t care for Spam or Hormel canned meats either.
But I`m also not rude enough or as ignorant as you
to express it as you have.

We use that occassionally to make shredded beef tacos. Scrape off all the gravy, shred the meat. Fry up some onions, can of diced green chilis, a cut up tomato and add shredded meat. Sprinkle on some red chili powder, cumin and and garlic powder. Simmer till juice from tomato evaporates and serve on your favorite taco shell with lettuce and cheese. we think it comes out pretty good for "campin food".

Spam is awsome! I will try the "dog food" as I think most Hormel products are good. The pre-seasoned pork tenderloins are good. What's an SO?

I haven't had that in awhile now, but I used to make hot beef sandwiches out of it.
Mike have you tried adding low sodium beef broth powder?

Thanks for the ideas. The beefy tacos sound pretty tasty too. I have found a new quickie camping meal.
