We use State Farm for everything, they are cheaper than any other carrier, but we've been with them for about 30 years.

Not in Florida! Dropped SF for everything except stick n'brick two years ago. Went with the Gecko for cars and trailer, better coverage on the trailer and saved $900 initially. Now? coverage is just as expensive as State Farm, no claims, no accidents, no tickets, nothing! Called that little lizard and asked why and received the standard industry line "we have to adjust premiums to reflect claims experience in Florida". Reaffirms my belief insurance companies exist to collect money and resist like hell any effort to pay out.

I went with Gilbert RV Insurance out of Orlando. My thinking was you need an rv insurance company that specializes in rv's rather than an automotive policy. Also if less than 5 years old you need cost replacement coverage. Insurance is like everything else, you get what you pay for.

Interesting. I got a quote from Gilbert when we purchased our trailer (used). They wanted $893/yr., no replacement cost rider. Only reason I could come up with was trailer would not be stored at our home.

We did state farm for everything. Had Geico but their home owner insurance was thru the roof and switched to Farm Bureau and apparently all they know is raise rates, four times in one year without any claims either. And our contact in the office was terrible. Never there and rude to the point that the other office personel would complain about him too. State Farm has been good so far. Business is with someone else tho.

Greatest exposure for TT or FW is while being towed. Most auto policies extend liability from the towing vehicle to the towed vehicle hence a company wants both. Otherwise it can be a jumbled mess if the towing vehicle hits another vehicles and the towed unit ends up striking still a different object.

Progressive here aswell the had the best coverage for the lowest price for us.

Same here; Trailer insured by Progressive for 8 years. Not sure why anyone would insure anything with Gieco as I've found them to be much more expensive. Maybe it's the cute commercials.

Try USAA if you are military affiliated. They have great rates and even better service. Our new TC is fully covered for $6/mo.

Hi All.

We switched thru AARP to the "Hardford Insurance Company" many years ago. No one, but no one could even begin to come close to their prices. We saved over $900.00 Dollars a year, every year.

Plus we are covered for much higher limits, and up to $1 Million Dollars of Liability. It really doesn't cost very much to have the extra insurance in these days when everyone is "Sue Happy".

Also, with in a month of joining the Hardford Insurance Company, we were given "Free Emergency Road Service", for our Motorhome, which also covers any Toads of Tow behind Trailers, like with Boat, U-Haul Trailer, Tow Dollys or even a small Trailer that you own yourself.

Our Rates haven't gone up. Both the DW and I have totally Spotless Driving Records. Not so much as even a Parking Ticket. I was also an OTR Trucker for many years, nothing even then either.

Also, as long as you keep your payments up, you can't ever be turned down, for Age or your Driving Record.

Hartfords "Free Emergency Road Service" is not a through in, that you secreatly pay for later on, or its figured into your original costs, its Totally Free, every year.

Its also nice to be able to pay for all of you Insurances only one payment a year, if so choose to, which we do. As we have everything covered wiht thhem, as they are the Cheapest by far. They also, for those of you that know Insurance ratings, they have a AAA+ Rating. Not like a lot of "Off Shore Insurance Companes" do.

Not to many other Insurance Companies will even do that, because they want it at only 6 months worth, so if you get a ticket, they can up your rates, for the next six months.

Over the years, we have saved a lot of money with "The Hartford Insurance Company".

Good Luck. Happy Travels. Dan & Jill
