In the winter, we use a flannel top sheet -- that keeps everything in place because flannel does not slide much. In the summer, the smooth sheets do tend to slide around a little more.

I use Jersey sheets and don't seem to have that problem at all.

We use flannel sheets year round in both the RV and at our base cottage. Neither of our beds have foot boards, and the sheets and blankets stay nicely in place.

If your sheets have rayon in them or are a very very high thread count percale, they may just be too slick. (BTW very high thread count sheets are hot too)
I had a set of silky (some kind of rayon blend to mimic silk) sheets here at the house and they would not stay put on the bed.. I didn't use them but a couple of nights before I got frustrated and took them off.. I have short queen in RV and use regular queen sheets just tuck the extra under at the foot. maybe that is why I don't have an issue with sheets sliding.. I have tried flannel sheets and they don't slide at all, in fact, I can't seem to turn over with them on the bed, so back to my cotton sheets.. think I will stick with them.

I had the same problem with the covers... drove me crazy. We have a full size island queen. The bedspread that came with it was had an awful feel to it so I bought a cotton quilted reversable coverlet, the kind usually used with a bedskirt. Every night I was constantly pulling the covers back up. I finally figured out that if a flip my side of the coverlet over onto husband I do not have a problem with the sheet and blanket. It makes for a must more restful night.

Reading this thread made me laugh until I cried. Thanks. Lots of good ideas along the way, too.
Still having fun!
