Having taken 4 Yellowstone winter tours one does not want to do much once you get back except eat and rest up for the next day of snowmobilling and we stayed in W. Yellowstone MT with 2 days in the park and the other 2 days riding the trails in the National Forest around West Yellowstone.
I would think if you are staying in Jackson your days would be much longer than ours if you going into the park.

We used to snowmobile up there years ago prior to the guide requirement. Now where in the park you go is going to be based on the tour you're signed up for. I've always come in from west yellowstone. Basically, you have to stick to the groomed trails, which follow the road. You can do a big loop swinging by old faithfull, yellowstone lake, grand canyon of yellowstone, then back around but it's a real long ride for a day. You will just be looking for a hot shower or bath and a bed when you're done.

As for while you're in Jackson, You can go check out the elk in the preserve, do shopping in the town center, and hit the bars with the ski crowd at night. What sort of stuff are you looking for?

Winter is a prime wolf watching season, as they are very active.

Thanks everyone!
Not sure what is available to do at the time. Our guided snowmobile tour is for 4 days, 3 days riding into Yellowstone & 1 doing the Continental divide. Jackson Hole is were it all starts. We will have a couple extra days & seeing what else is available to do.
