2. 2003 Rockwood 2290, price is $3600 firm from man selling.
We are going to see #1 tomorrow and is within a few miles of our work. According to specs, it comes with a toilet/shower.
#2 is 30 minutes away in another town. It has no toilet/shower, but has more seating plus a front storage unit. Has also had an electric wench installed.
We will be towing with a 2005 4Runner 4x4, 6 cylinder.
Also pertinent, we have two children, ages 8 and 13.
Thoughts on our current choices?

a bench is used sometimes a toilet is used 24,7 two kids you need a toilet at 3AM you,ll be glad you did. and ALL prices are flex able even those firm one,s.money does talk.
The 1950 is a 10' unit while the 2290 is the 12' unit. This increases the beds to a king and queen vs queen and double. The additional bed space will be quickly wanted at that age. I had a porti potty for the late night runs when my kids were that age. Storage space needs to be considered depending on how the kids pack.

On our first PUP, I wanted a toilet but we got a stupendous deal on a 10' Jayco without one. Now, four years later, it wasn't just I who wanted a toilet. DW and DD (age 5) plus DS (age 7) all have needs that can't be justified to walk to the campground bathroom. DW originally didn't really care, even did NOT want a toilet.
We now have one with a toilet, and I'm out several additional grand to "fix" this.
Your mileage may vary. Look for the ones that fit YOUR requirements or wants. If not, you may long for something else, and end up costing you more in the long run. It's out there...you just have to look and/or wait.
My personal choice would be the 2290. At ages 8 & 10, the kids should be OK overnight without immediate access to toilet facilities. Pop-up showers seem to be fairly small. Plus there may not be an on-board grey water holding tank for the shower.
The 12' unit will be nice, especially if/when the kids want to bring frinds along. I've slept 8 (4 adult, 4 kids) comfortably in my 12' unit.
Front storage can be a blessing or a curse. Too many heavy things make the tongue too heavy, but things like camp chairs, tarps, small BBQ work very nicely in the storage unit. Plus you don't have to lift the roof or crawl around inside to access it.
If you need to store the trailer in a garage, the 12' may not fit. Mine does by about 4" but wouldn't if it had the front storage box.
We have the additional bench and use it alot. Nice to have the added seating, especially if more than 4 are using the trailer. We picked up a small table that fits nicely at the bench for additional eating space.
Unless the 2290 is really beaten up, you probably can't go wrong with either. It's all personal preference.

If all goes well, we will be buying the 1950 tomorrow. Can't even get the man selling the 2290 to commit to a date and time for us to come look at it. We have looked around at several possibilities, considered our twoing capabilities, our wishes as far as activities, and our budget. We think the 1950 will work for us nicely, too.
I think you'll be glad for the toilet, if you go with the 1950. I sure wished I had originally. Good luck and happy hunting.
Be sure to check EVERYTHING out, even look under the mattresses for signs of water damage on the bunk-end wood, etc.
If you're standing there with check/cash in hand, ready to buy it, have the dealer do a full walk-through of all of the systems, and the take-down procedure. You do it as much as possible as they describe the processes. Helps with memory retention. Ask what all of the switches do.
We pick it up on Wednesday after the dealership has a chance to completely service it, including either repairing or replacine the dinette table (single pedestal was sitting right). At that time they will go over the entire trailer with us from top to bottom, which we really appreciate.
