I want to replace coax in my 1994 Bounder. I want to upgrade so I can have hd tv and Satellite. Old coax is in bad shape. Is it possible to just pull out the old and follow with new? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

What do you mean by " Bad Shape "??

insufficent band with for hd tv, I have directv they run 2 coax to each reciever then hdmi from reciever to tv.

NO RV has the required cables you seem to need. You seem to need EXTRA cables for the system. HOW are you running HD in the RV???? From an outside dish on a tripod or a Winegard Travler roof top mount? Doug

I do not have hd yet. I plan to replace my tvs with hd tv in the near future. I currently get tv from a tripod mounted dish. what does it matter how I get tv now, I want to replace cables with new so I dont have cables running through the coach.

Well, it makes a BIG Difference. The existing Coax will receive OVER the AIR HD just fine The existing Coax will transmit RF signals just fine and send the signal to the Sat tripod LNB. So, answer the question, Are you planning on using a Tripod mount or a roof top mount or Dome system? Doug

What we are try to ask is what is your plan. Simply replacing all your coax in your RV may not work if you plan on doing HD. You do know that the DTV HD receivers do not have coax outputs to hook up to your TV. So if you want some help making HD work in your RV tell us how many TV's, where your dish is going to be located, and do you need to watch 2 different programs at the same time on different TV's and do you want to be able to record and watch a different program on that TV? I just did this in my 2011 RV and did not use any of the existing coax nor did I replace it.

I don't think replacing or if you will adding an additonal piece of coax is going to offer you much. As far as I know there is no consumer equipment that puts out an HD signal through a coax connector. You can use one piece of rg-59 or rg 6 to receive the sat signal to the sat receiver.
So If you want HD output from one receiever to more than one TV, I would consider running HDMI as others have suggested under the coach and then maybe up through an interior wall. You could use an HDMI switch or an HDMI splitter.
Most of your home installations use dual coax for multiple LNB's or for a return from a receiver back to a distribution point. As stated earlier you can run most anything on on piece of coax using a diplexer.
Good luck with your project.

Are running your new cable to the same areas. Why not just use the old cable to "pull" the new cable?

HDMI cabling may not be necessary. DirecTV & Dish whole-house HD systems just use coax from DVR to other receivers.

When I replaced my CRT TV with a Flat Screen TV I also upgraded my coax cables. I have a DirecTV receiver and I only had one satellite coax cable. I do not have HD in my rig.

Before I rewired my rig, to record on my DirecTV box I would re-route the cable TV coax cable and connect it to my DirecTV box. When I wanted to connect to park cable I would have to disconnect the cable from my DirecTV box and connect it back to my switch box.

So when I rewired my RV I added another satellite connection on the outside where I connect my satellite antenna and cable TV connection. I put a new connection for my satellite antenna between my existing satellite and RV park cable connections. I routed the new coax cable under the coach and used tie-wraps to tie the cable to existing wire bundles.

When I got to the front of my coach I found where Winnebago routed wires from the outside of my coach to the inside. I routed my coax cable into the cab with the other wires. I then routed the wire to my overhead cabinets through the windshield side-post. Once I was behind my overhead cabinets the rest was easy.

There was a jumble of coax cables behind my switchbox. I wanted to be able to label each cable to know where it came from. I took a small square 9 volt battery and soldered it to a female cable connector. I connected it to the end of a coax cable such as my outside TV connection. I then used a multi-meter to find the hot wire. I then labeled it.

One problem was I could not find my outside TV coax cable. For some reason it didn’t reach the front of my RV. I had to route another coax cable to replace the missing end. I did not remove the old cable I ran another one. Like the second satellite antenna cable I ran this replacement cable under my coach.

Safe Travels.
