Total agreement. I guess we'll plan some out-of-state trips and make them sightseeing/biking trips and stay a few days, wherever we may go.

Some brands don't have dealers, the factory sells direct to the public.
Casita and Scamp are in this category, not sure about Escape. They all have web sites.
If you contact them they will put you in touch with someone in your area that is willing to show you their trailer. If you buy one that person gets a commission.
Take a look on eBay. There are a lot of dealers in grand rapids Michigan as well as one in Walcott Iowa which isn't that far from your home. Just a suggestion
Along with a previous suggestion, before we bought our Jayco Designer, I contacted the Jayco factory & they were able to pinpoint a dealer within approx. 300 miles that had the particular models I wanted to see. I called the dealer, & sure enough, they had the models & we made the trip there to see them.

2003 Jayco Designer 31FKS
Twin Honda Eu2000 gen sets
If you are interested in a fiberglass "egg" contact the manufacturer. Most of them keep track of owners that are willing to show their trailer & will give you the phone number of a near by owner.
Oops - sorry for duplicating Sunbird's post, but I can add that Escape does the same...
