We're looking for a RV Park somewhere around Washington, DC where we can camp and drive in to a Metro station and take the train into DC.
Doesn't seem to be anyplace close that gets a decent review or has full hook ups.
We have a 30' FW and want to go late April - Early May and will be coming from Georgia.

Any suggestions??

Pohick Bay Regional Park near Lorton, VA. They have a few full hookups, so you'll have to reserve as early as possible. Very nice park, not far from the Franconia-Springfield Metro Station.

Cherry Hill is a fine destination campground. Decent sized sites and a nice pool. There camp store is second to none and they have a fine cafe on site. It is a 5 minute drive to the metro station or the bus comes right to the campground. Only real downside for us was the constant road noise from RT95.

Cherry Hill RV Park is probably the closest one to washington DC sites and things... Transportation available.

Never been there but looks like a pretty fancy site from their web page...

Another vote for Pohick - worked great for us - we did exactly what you described. Drove to Springfield metro & rode the subway system to the sites - no issues with traffic - no issues with parking. Quiet with large sites. We were there for a week in late April last year. Convenient drive to Mt Vernon as well.

This webpage gives you a rundown on all of the CGs around DC.

There are no CGs in DC. Cherry Hill is your best bet for your first visit to DC. Very popular with RV'ers. Has full hookups, has a good camp store, is close to a food store and restaurants, and has easy access from the 495 Beltway.

Cherry Hill is about 13 miles to downtown, but you don't want to drive into DC. It's not a nice placefor pilgrims. I live here and I don't like to drive into downtown.

There is a couple of WMATA Metro stations a couple of miles from Cherry Hill. The WMATA bus stops right in front of the CG store and will carry you to the College Park Metro, or you can drive over to the Green Belt station and park for a couple of bucks. Saves you some time if you have your own vehcle when you get off the train. The staff will give you the details.

We just left Cherry Hill yesterday after staying there for a week. Metro bus bring you right to the metro and there are tours that pick you up right at the campground. You can also purchase your metro tickets at the campground. The metro buses are cash only $1.70 to go from Cherry Hill to metro. Drivers do not give change so make sure you have dollar bills and change.
The metro is great, when the train arrives it will have lights the color of the line (Green line) for Cherry Hill. The last stop on the line is displayed on the car so you know what direction you are going.
Parking is limited in DC so the metro is the way to go.

See you on the road!

We just stayed there th first week of April and this place is great and the Metrobus comes right to the campground that takes you to th Metrotrain station. Very easy to use. We had a great time and would stay at Cherry Hill Park again.
