Ok it's been unusually hot and we've had the air conditioners running for about 4 days now. All of a sudden noticing some odor coming from the front unit. Any ideas why? Or how to fix?

Thanks,

Dave

Auto dealers have a spray thry inject into the cabin air intakes to clean out mold and odor.

probably a good time to pull it apart and give it a good cleaning both the condensor and evaporator and their drains

I've had a dealer use that junk in a Ford Ranger I had. It worked for a couple, three days. I made them pull the evaporator and clean it the way they should have in the first place. All it does is mask and/or neutralize the odor temporarily. The gunk stays there, however, providing groceries for the next crop of mold. That remaining gunk also reduces airflow.

There was a thread with some good pictures of how to do this. I looked but couldn't find it. Maybe someone knows?

Yep, actually drove to all of these places---in the last eight years. Missed Rhode Island and New Jersey.
