Saw it, but didn't notice the poster's name. Sorry.

rN, I'll PM you the name of the woman I dealt with after work.
With me the 1st set had problems after a few months of sitting in the yard, the 2nd set I noticed less than a year after putting them on so maybe they're going with the "1 yr warranty" or something?

I think the "Chinese rubber" theory makes sense, pretty sure I saw MADE IN CHINA on them somewhere, will look tonight.

Hmmmm, can't seem to send a PM, WTH?

There is a known problem with people logging in right now. That would prevent a PM.

Did the replacement job Sat. There was 2 of us, 1 under the trailer and the other out side. Took about 3 hours. Kind scary when we took the trailer weight off, One side could have fallen out and had several spot where the rubber edge was gone. They not only shorted the kit by 2 bolts, the 2 they did send were 1/2 inch short so had to use the original bolts.
Will try to get some pictures sent with this but have not had any luck as yet.

I also wonder now, if it is not time that a manufacture recall be started.

Here's Joe's pictures, keep in mind these are off a 2012 trailer:

I spoke to a Dexter engineer the other day, he told me the company they get the rubber from changed the compound or something, Dexter didn't know about it till people started having these problems. He told me the newer ones seemed to be better but they're getting some made with a new rubber later this month, he's going to run them through some tests and if they look good he'll send me another new set, I haven't put in the ones they sent me 2 weeks ago yet.

The E-Z Flex in those pictures are pretty nasty. Dexter should have a recall out on those. Mine, I think, are still in good shape. I'll take a good look when I change out the springs later this month.

Dexter sent the replacement kit. It took 2 of us about 3 hours to install. Some of that was learning curve. Will know better if there is a next time.

They recognized the problem and are looking for a more long term permanent fix.

It was alright working with someone who was actively try to make things right.

Thanks to all of you who hand input on this subject, It all helps.

They should be able to permanently fix this problem. I put these on a fiver not long after they were introduced to the market. They are still fine. So at one point, they were getting good rubber. Unless that rubber manufacturer has gone out of business, they can always go back to them, even if they have to raise the price of the item. At this point, they will have to raise the price just to cover all of the warrantee claims.

Okay this pisses me off. During our last trip out I noticed the rig riding low on one side. I assumed it was just my springs going bad. I have been talking with a local trailer repair shop about replacing the springs, they needed some measurements of the springs so today I climbed underneath. As I was there I remembered this thread and took a look at the ez flex. Both sides are crushed and cracked! I installed these in Jan 11 and they have about 8k. Could this defect have caused premature wear of my springs?
