I’m “bringing back to life” a Coleman Sportster single burner fuel stove I bought 30+yrs ago to. It had old fuel in it so I cleaned the tank with denatured alcohol. Put new fuel in….pumped it up….hearing air going though the burner….light the match for the grand finally….and nothing….clogged something. To make a long story short after lot’s of cleaning it’s ready to rock and roll again except I need to replace the shutoff valve packing. I keep thinking “just order a propane single burner and be done with it” but this thing has character.

There are a lot of vintage Coleman stoves in use. Check ebay for old parts, sometimes you find what you need.

I like the nastolgia of the old colemans. I picked up a Kansas, USA built powerhouse stove for $15 at a yard sale a couple years ago. Runs like new only without the $125 they're charging for the china made ones they're selling new.
I also have a neat coleman fuel powered space heater from the 60's. But, I don't use that one due to my love for stuff like breathing.

I do not like propane stoves. It just seems to be too wasteful throwing away all the cylinders. I have several lanterns that I use camping and go no where without a Coleman stove. I just bought new cap gaskets last year because the caps were leaking. I also started my son-in-law with a liquid stove. He is hooked.

Over time inside the tank the fuel turns to lacquer and clogs the jets, and Coleman recommends storing their white gas appliances without fuel in them. They rate their white gas fuel at 5 years shelf life as I remember. We store out white gas in the big MSR 33-ouncers...

I have the Coleman Dual-Fuel Stove and Lantern, but rarely use them. I also got the propane units, and they are much easier and more convenient. No issues with fuel spillage or pumping. The propane cannisters last fairly well for a single person.
I've no house in the city, just a camping tent in the wild.

Any self respecting sporting goods store should have replacements or worse come you could go online to Coleman. Ive noticed my Wally world is only stocking propane gismo's though.
Ive had to take the burners apart too cause they was full of cobwebs and such but with a little maintnance they will last most forever.
I had a propane but it seemed like every time I turned around I was replacing the bottle,, logistics of it just sucked.

My gasket was in bad shape. I burned it out and replaced the gasket with an o-ring per this website:

I used the same o-ring mentioned - 11/16" x 1/2" X 3/32", ACE part 4072427.

Here's you a link to most any Coleman fuel part or question. I use liquid fuel only even the heaters with ventilation(except when the wife is with me I use my Mr Buddy propane for heat).

DH and I actually went shopping for a dual fuel Coleman yesterday. Could NOT....NOT find one other than one rather large unit. We had a smaller one we "lent out" and never saw again. We went to Bass Pro, Academy and a few other places...nada.
The BP in Atlanta is nothing compared to the one in Missouri! I was so disappointed...couldn't wait to get out of there! Next trip to Mo I am hitting Cabela's and BP. Haven't looked at Dicks yet.
We want the dual fuel because we don't like the propane. Are they just gone now??
