X3..............Don, do you remember how much you shortened the pipe? Our Gulfstream has the same problem, and i seem to be the one chosen to deal with it. Our pipe is very close to the sloped side of the tank, and that is the exact repair i was about to attempt. I wondered if they use the same pipe lenght for all models, some work well, some dont? Anyways its a real crappy problem.

I know they are expensive, but would any of the macerator style toilets improve the SITuation with this type of problem?

sssooo......I had an 04 Fleetwood Terra for a short period of time. The toilet backed up regularly and was a nightmare. The problem on mine was the tank design. The main portion of the tank was located off to one side of the toilet drain. To get the waste from the drain into the main tank, Fleetwood used a tank with a shelf on one side. The waste fell down the drain and onto the angled shelf and was suppose to slide into the tank. I complained to Fleetwood about the design and they said I was the only one that ever complained.....yet it was all over the internet. They refused to fix the coach. For that and other problems with the coach, I sold it and decided never to purchase another FLeetwood product.

I later learned that they recalled the bad tanks and replaced them.

I did do some repairs to mine to make it better. I removed the toilet and went to a larger drain flange. I don't recall the sizes now, but I changed it from something like a 4" drain hole to a 5" drain hole. I also shortened the pipe on the toilet so that it didn't hang so deep into the tank. The toilet drain pipe was too long and was only about a couple of inches above the shelf. Large items (no description needed) would hit the shelf and still be partially in the drain pipe.

This helped a little.

Eat more prunes, put more fiber in your diet, and your problem will be solved.......if there was a recall on it, perhaps another call to Fleetwood is in order.....just sayin....Dennis

Same thing with mine. What works well for ME is, continue to flush after you dump. Filling the bowl first didnt direct any more water on it.I used a flashlight to observe and could see the water hit the shelf and wash the tp off of it. The problem is getting the rest of the group to do the same. So far so good.

Full timing it since July 2012 My pics

SSSOOO,
Send an email to George Weart. george.weart@fleetwoodrv.com He is the Fleetwood production manager. He is the oldest surviving member of the old Fleetwood and a Bounder owner. George is a good guy and hates it when customers are unhappy. Be nice! Explain your problem in a professional manner. Hopefully George will have a resolution to your issue. If you find out how to correct your problem, please come back and share with us.
