Quote: Our Greyhawk offers the ability to use the onboard pump to pull water into the freshwater tank. We can fill from anything I can fit a 5/8" hose into.
Hmmmm ... a bit off the OP's topic ... but can the regular RV water pump and it's system winterizing input plumbing be used to somehow do this? (We have a winterizing system in our Itasca, but never use it for anything.)
IMHO, trying to stay long term in a dry camping spot, without major conservation measures, is not an easy, or fun, campin experience. Will you be using a generator for long term power? Using a tote for sewer, 150' of hose for water, something else for power is not what these camping spots were made for. We will dry camp for up to 4 or 5 days, and then it's time to move on to dump, recharge the batteries, and refill the fresh water.
There is really only 2 ways to get water 160' from faucet to your RV. carry water in jugs or use 160' of hose. I have done both depending on the scenario.

In my OFF-ROAD POPUP I use a two wheeled folding luggage cart and a five-gallon green water can for the fresh water. It doesnt take that many trips to fill up my fresh water tank.
I also use the folding cart to haul off my gray water using a couple of those 7-gallon blue aqua-tainer jugs and dump this down the bath room toliet.
I also use the built-in 6-gallon tote tank which has built-in wheels for my cassette pottie to tote the black water to the bath room to dump down the toliet.

I added a garden hose connection to the wash basin in the commode area. I have a winterizing "kit" on my pump. So I could pump the water from the source, then run a hose from the water tap to the gravity fill on the RV.

Thanks Don.
I've wondered about trying this same thing. We even have an outside shower in the compartment right next to where our FW gravity fill inlet is, so I guess I could just stick the shower head into this inlet to fill the FW tank using the main water pump fed via water from the winterizing intake tube. However, the winterizing intake hose is inside under the rear bed ... accessible only by propping up the mattress and then pulling the tube out through the access port under the mattress.
I've thought about doing this for pumping water from a stream while boondocking - if I could filter the water at the stream source some way that would please the DW! (The water pump's suction draw may not be strong enough for this, however.)
FWIW, we just returned from a 100% drycamping trip (including on the beach a couple of days) and went 6 days using only about 80% of our FW. This included us both taking showers every other day. This trip also included crossing a stream in our Class C motorhome to get to one camp site.

Are you talking about Hither Hills State Park in Montauk?
Quote: Sure, we can fill up our fresh tank before leaving home but what about when we get there? I'm sure we'll be having to fill up again in a day or two.
You can save water by using the the showers at the bathhouse and strongly encouraging your family to conserve water.
Quote: Any suggestions on how to accomplish this? One of the sites is about 160' from the spigot and it's across a CG road so it's not like I want to be running a hose that far. I think we only have 50' of hose anyway.
