Darn ~ I'm at the age that I remember nothing. I've got a library in my house, but it only requires one book. Anyway, there is a campground that is very close, It is right in the middle of all the traffic but I don't think that you are looking for scenery. We stayed there for my visits to MDA. Give me a bit and I will come up with the name and address. Good luck!
The South Main Street park is one choice. It is in a high traffic area, near the 610 loop and is harder to maneuver into but do-able. I believe they are Passport America for a couple nights.
We, however, chose Lakeview. It is just a short distance down the road and is much larger. . . a newer park with lots of room, particular if you have a big rig. Well landscaped, 50A FHU at every site, club house, 2 hot tubs, pool, lake, walking paths, etc. There are lots of patients at both parks and both parks have shuttle service to the area hospitals. Lakeview is expensive, but we were there for 3 months last year so we paid the monthly rate of $750.
The location of Lakeview actually gives you two choices into town. If there is a backup on South Main, we slipped in the back way and got in quickly.
Both parks are close proximity to MD Anderson. We were 4.2 miles away at Lakeview. The manager there is very diligent about keeping a safe camp and monitors the gate traffic all the time.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
