Is it OK to open slides either all the way or part way when not unhitched just for an overnight stay.

Sure, but be careful to check the seal when not opening all the way. Mine seal well full out or full in, but not so much when partially open. The tops leak air.

With our 5th wheel, we'd do it all the time with the slide fully out. Many manufacturers recommend extending the slide fully when in use.

I do it all of the time and never put the legs down. I agree, all the way out is best. A flush floor side will have a gap at the top.
Yep, actually drove to all of these places---in the last eight years. Missed Rhode Island and New Jersey.

We often camp without unhooking with slide fully out. I do usually put down tongue jack to take a little weight off TV.

Unless the mfgr expressly states "no" in your owner manual, do it. I do with some amount of frequency with no harmful effects.
