i have a 2011 outdoors r/v tt. and i am thinking about making a rack
somewhat similar to a spare tire holder on a tractor trailer ?
underneath the tt in the back , two straps with some way to retain
it on each end .
has anyone done this ? any pro,s and or con,s ? my tt has a ton of clearance compaired to most others , so i dont think that would be an issue ??
oh ya , my table is fold legs, 6 foot ,banquet type, table made out of composite !

I think I understand what you want to do. Wouldn't it be easier to find a different lighter more foldable table? We've got a couple of those white one from Sam's/Walmart, that fold down to a 3 foot by 3 foot area and are extremely light and foldable. Didn't mean to change the subject, but there is more than one way to smack a cat.

you have a point about a foldable table but.... for one; my mother has a folding table that she has used for years and i dislike the unstable nature of it (
not saying they all are that way ) for a second point; i have a welder , i have the skills to weld , i have a very nice STABLE banquet type table that is
relitively light as those type tables go , and for three; it is kind of a
challenge to do this ? which should make it interseting , and from what i
can see ...... either i am not very good at explaining my intentions ? or NO ONE has ever attempeted this ? which is what makes me want to do it even more !! thanks for the input .... obviously your the only person whom
somewhat understands what i am trying to accomplish i will post pics i a week or two when i get the project under way ( just switching jobs so it could be e few weeks

Pretty cool idea, actually. You could make a couple of brackets to the frame and slide your folded table right in there. Offhand, I'm thinking a couple of pieces of angle iron with HDPE bolted on to provide for good sliding action.

It would be nice to have the table stowed out of the way, however being under the trailer wouldn't get covered with all kinds of road grime, tar, road kill etc. etc.?

No harm, no foul. Your equipment and I'm one for always saying "go for It!" I was just trying to give the insentive to really think it out and it sounds like you've done that. I do like the idea of some type of final surface that prevents scratching and gouging of what you are hauling. Don't forget a strap or some bracket to make sure the table stays in the bracket when going down the road. Welders are really great toys. You can make all kinds of big, heavy, worthless stuff and over build it to twice it necessary weight and somebody asks "why did you build that?" and you can answer "because I can". ;-)

I like this idea too!
I would weld up a cage and leave a side end open for the table to slide in. A hinged flat bar would close off the open side and then lock with a padlock so you know the table would not vibrate out.
I would also make the cage large enough to where the table would first slide into a protective waterproof canvas bag to keep road grime off the table.
I love me some land yachting

Go to the Heartland web site and see if they show any pics of their rear sliding cargo holder. We have one on ours, it's basicly comprised of tubing with one tube sliding inside the other. Two pins lock it all in place. There are holes to lock it open and closed. Same pins as used for reciever/stingers.
