My dog travels with me all the time. 60 pound Lab mix. The eating nook in the back turns into her room when we camp or are doing shows.

We just returned home from a 30 day vacation in our Class A DP with our 3 Basset Hounds and our Aust. Cattle Dog. No problems. Have been traveling with our dogs for years past in our TT's. Like AMX say's "Never leave Home without it (them)"

My kind of dog loving person. Jake the ACD is #1 in our family. When we camp Jake goes with us. When we leave the truck he is in the bed of the truck with water and a mat to lay on. I have to add the new dog, Jake, has a chain attached while in the bed of the truck. Buddy, our last dog, never needed a chain. If he got hot he would just jump out and crawl under the truck where it was cool. We never worried about him ever leaving the vehicle. Even in town. Jake is a new kid in town so we worry about him until he has been around awhile. Where I go my dog goes.

We travel with our 2 dogs all the time in our Roadtrek Class B. Last spring, while in Las Vegas, our AC was running but stopped cooling. Fortunately, we returned late afternoon and the inside was in the low 80's. We immediately contacted an RV AC repair shop. By the time we got to the shop, it was working again. They checked it out and all was working properly. The problem was the coils had frozen up. What they told us is, we should always run these AC's on high to prevent this problem. We now run the AC on high, AND, we also open the side bed windows and set the fantastic fan to turn on when it reaches a certain temp, AND run a small fan blowing towards where the dogs usually sleep (on the bed). We would rather cool the inside of the van with windows open, then to come back and find our 4 legged family members in a very bad situation. We know someone who accidently closed the door on their car, and didn't know their dog was in the car. The tempts were in the upper 80's low 90's. The end result was devastating. They could not save the dog. If we do not have electric hook ups, we will use our generator only for a couple of hours max. If we do not/can not use the generator, we'll look for a dog kennel or change our plans. Safe travels.

We travel with 2 small dogs and a cat - we try to avoid hot areas (Rodger, we know that's tough for you!). As others have mentioned, no matter how good your dogs are sometimes you can't avoid the breed restrictions. Some CGs are also very strict about barking dogs - one "woof' from your camper and you are out!

We travel with a Sheltie and the only drawback is she sheds - a lot. We probably spend 10 minutes a day rolling ourselves down with the gummy rollers. About once a week we roller the carpets and everything else. Katy is a great traveler & we wouldn't think about leaving her at home.

I just spent a week in rain in Oregon. Three large dogs. I always take two extra layers of light blankets on the bed. Keeps the debrie out of your blankets undernethe and can be easily shook out. They love the van! It gets tight when feeding inside! The generator ac is problematic in high heat. Be sure yours works or park near where you can check on ac to see if still running. Never could get mine to function dependably. Get a van with outside shower. Helps if you need to hose off sand or mud.
Beware, people love to come over to pet your dogs with their dog loose! I like to use ex pens, this way a strange loose dog cannot start something with my tied up dogs.
Campgrounds have strict leash laws for good reasons. Please obey them.

We have a truck camper and two dogs. Ube a Rhodesian Ridgeback 70 lbs and Gracie a Golden Retriever about 50 lbs and always take them with us. They are well trained and barring a woof or growl once in a while they are great in the parks.
