Very cool. Looks like there a green line and a gray line intersecting where the DTV sat is..or so I remember from my first few minutes with it. And there may be an elevation guide on there too..?

Thanks. I really don't want to invest any more money on sat meters or other gadgets when most of the time I can aim my tripod and be pretty much done. But, there are those times when it's stubborn and takes me longer.

Is there anything these phones can't do?

I don't use any meter to find my dish; I just open the side compartment & it's there. I do however use an acutrac III when I try to find the satellite! YMMV.

Can't find Satellite AR for iphone except the $19.99 version. I understand it is free for android customers.

I got feed up and bought a Winegard SK-3005. It finds the satellites itself!

For android, I prefer SatelliteFinder to Dishpointer and SatelliteAR. I still use Dishpointer for site survey but ditched SatelliteAR.

I also love to hate my Align-a-Site. It's expensive and and vulnerable to damage, my opinion, but really does work after you get it mounted precisely. Some might find that process a real PIA. It requires a perfectly aligned and peaked dish to start from.

Wondering if these would help find out if the trees are, in fact, in the way?
