1. No one way of FTing is the "right" way ~ make it what works for you.
2. If you FT with a partner, make sure you have open communication about what is working for you and what isn't.
3. Be honest about what you need so that FTing works for you (for example, I required my own washer/dryer).
Happy Travels!

1. Have your exhaust system inspected thoroughly. (Two of our rvs were leaking co2 into the coach!)
2. Get a GREAT mattress.
3. Verizon Mi-Fi for your computer.

Every ones list will be similar but a little different
for us
#1 Love the one your with, you are not in a roomy house, you are now living in about 1/4 the area you are used to.
#2 would be to change your life style, you don't have to hurry back to work....
#3 When you go to camping world for the first time...before checking out find a seasoned Rv'r to go through your cart and tell you what you won't need. ( save you some money)
Always keep an open mind and know how to laugh at difficult situations. Enjoy the life it is the best.

1) There's always a Walmart or Camping store (sometimes in the CG office) for RV supplies (tank additives, water hoses, sewer pipe) nearby.
2) Don't stock up on a month's worth of TP, paper towels or food.
3) Always try to find Campgrounds/RV Park's that offer a monthly rate to help stretch your budget.

1. Have an exit plan if you wish to quit FTing in the future.
2. Change ALL your plans (including # 1) if you feel like it.
3. Get a good GPS that you know how to use. It is hard to turn around a 60 foot rig because you took the wrong road. However, the wrong road may lead to an new adventure. -- Remember # 2
Please give me enough troubles, uncertainty, problems, obstacles and STRESS so that I do not become arrogant, proud, and smug in my own abilities, and enough blessings and good times that I realize that someone else is in charge of my life.

1) Make sure there are fuel up stations you can get in to on the routes you are taking.
2) Less is more!
3) Watch out for idiots who pass you near interstate exits and slam on the brakes to exit to the right.

1. Do something to stay mentally and physically active. We volunteer for a few months each year as interpretive hosts; we learn new subjects, learn about a new area, and always make lifelong friends.
2. As said before, it's a lifestyle, so pace yourself. Don't be in a hurry, there's plenty of time.
3. Downsize - scan all your important documents, do all your banking electronically, get rid of paper mailings, and once every six months go through your "stuff" and get rid of what you haven't used.

Welcome
#1. Have an Emergency Road Service (and hope you don't need it)
#2. Try to 2-2-2- rule. Drive 200 miles, rest every 2 hours, and be off the road by 2
#3. Be ready to roll with the punches - or go with the flow - you get the idea - be flexible - like if the weather is bad - stay put, you don't have to be anywhere at any particular time.
Be safe and enjoy
