Just bought a 2012 29QB, the owners manual is worthless,it covers As, Bs, Cs,gas & diesel. Not one picture in it looks like anything in my unit. It is so generic in nature. You spend that much money for that! Just had to sound off, sorry.

Welcome to the club. We did a little better, the manual was very basic as you describe. However, our dealer provided us with a pouch folder about 2" thick with every appliance owners manual. Most of those can be gotten off the internet. Even had a manual for the smoke alarm, the window shades, exhaust fan over the stove, exhaust fan in the bathroom, and.......

Hi Jeff, and welcome to the Forum! Yea, most all the "Manuals" the manufacturer provides are so generic that they are good for fire starters. They print one manual that seems to cover one thing about everything they build, so not one manual covers everything. As the previous poster mentioned, most everything can be found online as far as your appliances go, and really that is the most important. Most everything else, you can find out right here on the Forum.

I have figured out most everything on my own, but it should be covered in the manual, like, there is a hidden switch for the antenna, it's not obvious, where are the water drains, where is the water heater bypass, mostly things that have to do with how a Coachman works. My son bought a Fourwinds last year & got a very detailed manual with relevent pictures & wiring diagrams.

These are all things that your dealer should have gone over with your during the delivery/check out. Every system should have been covered and, if it wasn't, you should have asked. The location and operation of low point drains, bypasses, the Water Works system all should have been explained to you...preferably by the same technician that performed the pre-delivery inspection on your unit. My dealer labeled the location of each and every valve with a Brother label maker.

You also should have been provided with a manual, with warranty information, on each and every appliance and accessory in the motor home. If you did not, it's your dealer's oversight since every coach comes with the documentation for every item from the appliances, to the awnings, to the water pump...and even the toilet.

My 2005 Coachmen came with a 58 page wire wound manual which covered only Class-C's...but then they have been sold to Forest River since then. I also got a soft sided briefcase, with the Coachmen logo, to carry it all in.

BTW the way folks, this is the 80 page manual about which the OP is complaining:

You can't ask questions about something you are unaware of. If you read that manual you posted there are glaring omissions in it. There is not one picture in it that relates to my unit. The first thing I do when purchasing a new car is to read the owners manual. Frustrating

Your next discovery is that you can't check tire pressure without standing on your head. You may be tempted to buy cheap leakage prone tire valve "extensions". Don't!! These can cause rubber valve stems to crack and failfrom flexing. Find a truck tire shop that installs long custom formed solid metal or steel valve stems that make checking and adding air easy. No RV manufacturer has addressed RV tire valve access problems. Have "Borg" or "Tireman" solid metal valve stems or equivalent installed.
