Our Roo came with the Sidekick as well so did our Jayco 32' Class C motorhome. I use mine all the time. I've cooked everything on it and I've even smoked Country Style Ribs on it. You can't cook enough for a party, but it works great for our family of four.
I wouldn't spend the money on it if it hadn't come standard on both our RVs, but I'm happy to use it.
I've never had any mess from the grill on either RV. Both of them are under the awning and I don't get wet when it rains.

I have the sidekick also works great in the rain or to grill some dogs or sausage fast, camping world has it for around 150, the side table is also great to have. I need to find my picture of 2 NY strips on it.

If folks are having issues with grease spatter and smoke from the sidekick, they might want to turn the gas down a bit or let someone else do the cooking. I prefer charcoal or campfire cooking but have never had any problems with our sidekick.

Very happy with mine. Wish I still had the RVQ for storage reasons, but got he Sidekick after the trailer was stolen. During the fire bans last year, it came in handy when we couldn't have our charcoal fires at the campsites. And love it for quick fixes. Doesn't take much to throw it together and throw on a package of hot dogs when we're too tired to do anything else. Also works great when we stir fry on it. Cannot complain at all, except I miss the storage bag the RVQ came with....

I had the RVQ when I owned an HTT and it was used a lot. No problems with grease or stains on the awning. To be honest, it was just too darn convenient not to use.

We have an outside two burner stove. I would not reccomend the grill due to cost, weight and the fact that I do not want that much heat near my trailer wall. I know lots of folkd use and like them. Just my opinion.

I just got the Weber q120 and have been less than enthused. I'm sure it's a great grill but I can't seem to get the gas low enough (temp never less than 300)...and I haven't figured out how to do any indirect heat cooking.
Some of this may be a learning curve but I probably should have gone with the bigger Weber so I would have two controls for indirect cooking. I have an outside kitchen with burners which I love, my grill sits on the other side--makes for a very well functioning kitchen.

I have the sidekick that came with my shamrock, used it one time and found that it cooks slow as the flame isnt that great and the rail on the shamrock is to high up for me to use comfortably. I dont even use the shelf that came with it to use on the rail for the same reason . I bought a stainless table top gas grill from academy sports and it works great, i had an older grill i bought at walmart 10 years ago that worked just as good and it finally wore out and the new ones from walmart cook just like the side kick ,i swear you can put hot dogs on it on high and walk away ... It cooks that slow. The grill at academy was about 75 bucks and we are on the 2nd season with it and we camp all year long.

Just bought a 2004 215sb and I was questioning the little grill that hooks to the side of the trailer. After reading this thread, I can hardly wait to fire that mini up. Thanks to everyone for their input!!
