Could anyone share any helpful hints when it comes to lining up the truck with our travel trailer? Quite often, my husband is not at home to guide/assist me and I wondered if there is an easy solution. So many thanks to all those that emailed us recently regarding the hanging of the mirror inside our unit. We shall now contact the local stores here in Alberta to see if they carry the command strips. It is so nice to know that rv'ers do share their knowledge with others.

It's the last few inches that give me fits, and I found that this little item really solved that problem:

Hitch aligner

As you can tell from the pic, all you need to do is "hit" inside the wings, and the coupler will swing over the ball. The "wings" part is removed after hitching, and can be used as a wheel chock, too.

Works great for me!

My new truck has a backup camera and large screen for the radio to view it. $2000 navigation system I'll rarely use just for the camera. I love it! I have no problems getting it in 1 or 2 tries. I seem to be within 1" of where it needs to be, mostly straight but not quite far back enough. A

My last truck, I was best when I used my wide mirrors to get about the same amount of TT overhang on each side and back up and get out a couple (few ) times.

I use one of these over the tailgate of my truck. It will also fasten to the rear glass of a SUV.

Forget all of the money wasting gizmo's just get out and practice a little. Go slow and get out to check a couple of times as you get close and soon you will be "on the ball". Saw an add for a camera system that said "Which would you rather do, spend you time lining up your hitch or enjoying your trip?" What a joke, for lots of money they make it easier??? I don't think so. Once you get it down you will be taking about a one minute or less to line it up, save your hard earned money for a nice bottle of wine (or two).
