Daughter is getting married at the waterfalls,in Hocking Hills Ohio,we are taking the 5ver,and staying a week to make a little vacation out of it,great looking area.Question for someone from that area, coming west on 70 to Zanesville,is RT. 22 a good road to pull a big 5ver on,over to RT 33? Seems like a long way to go all the way to Columbus and around 270,to come back down 33 to Logan, just don't want to get stuck running a bad road on 22.....Thanks for any help, you can also PM if you like...Jack

That's the only way. It isn't that far and is 45 miles or so after you get on 33. Take the Lancaster bypass or you'll sit in traffic for what seems an eternity.

The state park is excellent. Old Man Cave is beautiful. When you get ready to come here let me know You'll pass withing 3 miles of my homes, in Canal Winchester.

I will take you about 1.5 when you get on 270. Watch the speed OSP patrols and doesn't like speed. 3 over is all they'll give.

If you get off on 22 you will have a lot of hills and some small towns. Drive is pretty but pain in the ass. Zanesville does have a Y Bridge. 93 will also take you to the caves but nothing is as good as 70 270 roads. It's been years since I drove 22 or 93 from Z ville it may have changed call or email OSP?

You can go to Brice Road Reynoldsburg exit take a left/south and intersect 33 taking 5or 10 miles off the trip.

Nothing to do with your question, but if you stay in the state campground you can't beat site 151 for size and privacy.

So you are saying to take 70W all the way to Columbus inner belt 270,then 33S to Logan ,but use the bypass around Lancaster to avoid the traffic? We are staying at Top Of The Caves campground, facing the lake,is it a nice campground.

The top of the caves is ok if your tent or pop up camping but if you are in anything bigger you will not have any trees. The area you are staying in facing the lake is on a hill with no trees or shade if that is ok with you you will be fine. We have been going to that area for over 20 years straight and prefer the state campground or KOA($$).
If you need firewood there is a sawmill in Laurelville,OH 740-332-8515 that we load our pickup to the brim for $40.00 and last all day for 10 days, Walmart in Logan, OH or Grandma Fayes is close to the state campground for staples, lots of nice trails in this area if your into hiking. Best wishes to the newlyweds!!

Take I 70 to 256, Pickerington exit, go south follow the traffic south at the intersection of Hill Road turn right Drug store on corner. Proceed to Rt 33, you will pass a Meir store on your left and a hospital on your right.
Yes bypass Lancaster unless you need a Walmart or store? Lancaster is not big but has nightmare traffic. Traffic lights abound and are not timed. Get close and feel lost call me, I'll pm my number if you like I'll lead you to 33. I live 10 minutes from 70 3 minutes from 33.

But of course you will have to take me Trout Fishing in PA. LOL. My wife's family is from Pa. Pitts and Erie.
